works for providing employment to
educated unemployed youth and meaningful
utilization and development
of traditional artisans.Some of the
primary activities of DIC,Puri is as given
below.
I)SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES SECTOR
* Identification
of prospective entrepreneurs for industrialization of the
district.
* Project
guidance and assistance to entrepreneurs for provisional and
permanent registration
of small scale industries.
* Identification and
reporting of SSI units gone into production.
* Survey of SSI units to ascertain their health and
assistance to sick
industries for its
revival.
* To
provide various concessions/grants like capital investment subsidy,
electrical duty
exemption,
Industrial Policy
Resolutions to SSI entrepreneurs
growth.
* To provide loans to educated unemployed
youth under Prime Ministers
Rozgar Yojana(PMRY) to
set up different ventures.
* To help entrepreneurs for availing
financial assistance from various
financial institutions
to set up their units.
* To help SSI units for Export
Promotion & Marketing(EPM) registration.

( PMRY )
Prime Ministers Rozgar
Yojana (PMRY) was implemented
in the year 1993-94.The scheme
became operational
and it was implemented in the urban area
during the year 1993-94 and
thereafter it is being implemented
scheme provides projects up to Rs.1.00
lakh in business sector and
Rs.2.00 lakh in service
appreciable successin creating employment
among the unemployment
youth.

COTTAGE INDUSTRIES SECTOR :
Since Puri
district is having a rich traditional culture and heritage,
it has a
tremendous potential in handicraftand cottage
original source
of this industry is temple craft of Lord
Jagannath and world
famous Sun temple
of
imparting
training and upgrading the skill of traditional artisan families
economic weaker
section people for boosting up their per capita income
through DIC
promotional schemes like
schools,coir
training centers etc. It has spread skill and
upgraded the traditional
