GOPABANDHU  AYURVEDA  MAHAVIDYALAYA

                               GENERAL INFORMATION :- Gopabandhu  Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya ,Puri  is a premier Ayurveda college of Orissa and one of the country founded in July '1949 . This institution is ideally located on the  V.I.P. road of puri town about a few furlongs of the railway station and the scenic sea-beach ,
the G.A.M presents a colossal  look with a sprawling campus stretching over 10 acres of land . A well maintained herbal garden in its campus spreading over 2 acres of land provides uncommon and valuable varieties of medicinal plants .

                                 The modernized study of Ayurveda at G.A.M. , Puri  has attracted students from various parts of the country like Punjab , Delhi ,Uttar Pradesh ,West Bengal , Uttarnchal , Assam ,Manipur , Madhya Pradesh , Maharashtra , Karnatak , Kerala , Pondichery etc. .

                                           Post Graduate in Rasashastra has been introduced recently from the academic year 2001-2002 . The admission into M.D. & M.S. (Ay) degrees is made according to the merit list as per the mark obtained in P.G. entrance examination  conducted by the college for the purpose . The
advertisement for admission to P.G. course is generally published in leading Oriya and English News papers during the month of July - September every year .

                                         The admission to B.A.M.S. course is made according to the merit list  drawn on the basis of marks obtained in Physics +Chemistry + Biology  subjects at the intermediate in science  examination . The advertisement is generally published in leading Oriya news papers after publication of  +2 sc. results .

                                      PANCHAKARMA  THERAPY :-Panchakarma is the comprehensive fivefold measure to expel the biological capabilities responsible for diseases ;
                                        1 . Vaman -Medicated emmesis - indicated for Kapha
                                        2 . Virechan -Induced purgative indicated for pitta
                                        3 . Nasya - Erhearrine therapy for kaph loged in head & neck .
                                        4 . Nirooha-Medicated Enema with decoction indicated for Vata & Kapha.
                                        5 . Anuvasan - Medicated Enema with lipid indicated for Vata & pitta .

 

                                Besides the above this hospital takes the pride of providing specialized treatment with remarkable results like Rheumatic Fevera , Rheumatic Arthritis , Sciatica , Monoplegia , Hemiplegia , Paraplegia etc. . Ksharsutra  treatment in Osteomyelisis , Piles , Fistula & other anorectic diseases . Netra Tarpana a specialized Ayurvedic treatment for Myopia , Metropia etc. is available in this hospital . In case of female sterility intra-uterine insulation (uttarvasti) is also conducted successfully .
